Ordering & NFA Process
How does ordering a silencer from LPM work?
Ordering a silencer from LPM can be done in 3 quick steps. Click here to find out more!
How do I order a silencer (NFA item) from your website using my preferred dealer?
When you place your order, use your personal information for the “Billing Address”. For the “Shipping Address,” you must enter the shipping and contact information for your local FFL (Federal Firearms Licensee) / SOT dealer. We will then contact your dealer to get the necessary paperwork to file the Form 3 transfer.
How does the “Ship to my door” (Capitol Armory) option work?
If you select the Capitol Armory fulfillment option, we will send your information to Capitol Armory after your purchase. They will then contact you directly to get the required information to submit your Form 4. All interaction after the initial purchase will go through Capitol Armory, as they handle the entire paperwork submission and final fulfillment process.
Can I have you hold my order to be processed at a later date?
Yes, we can hold paperwork for an order. To do this, you must leave a note in the order comments specifying your request.
Warranty & Repairs
I had an issue while using a third-party muzzle device. Is that covered?
We are committed to helping our customers. Even if an issue is related to a third-party product, please contact us. We will work with you to diagnose the problem and get you fixed up. If repairs are necessary, they will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Returns & Order Changes
What is your return policy?
Silencer sales are final and can't be cancelled once ordered. Unused non-NFA
items can be returned within 30 days: email us, we'll send a prepaid return label, and its cost is deducted from your refund. See our Refund Policy for details.
Can I add an item to an order I just placed?
Unfortunately, we cannot add items to an existing order. However, if you place a new, separate order for the additional item, we will combine the shipments and refund the shipping cost on one of the orders, when possible.
Product & Compatibility
Are there any cartridge restrictions on the Mach or Anthem silencers? Is it safe for .30 caliber Magnums?
The Mach and Anthem silencers have no cartridge restrictions and are perfectly fine to use on magnum cartridges like 300 Win Mag, 300 Norma Mag, 300 RUM.
Are your silencers HUB compatible?
Absolutely. All of our centerfire rifle silencers are HUB compatible, and ship with either a Titanium direct thread mount, or a Rearden Atlas mount with 1-2 of our muzzle devices, depending on the model.
Dealer Inquiries
Do you allow FFL/SOT dealers to purchase products directly from you?
Yes, you can absolutely purchase direct from us. Please use the Dealer Request form on the website to apply for a dealer account.
Product Installation
What are the torque specs for installing your muzzle devices and HUB adapters? Should I use Rocksett?
Always use a calibrated torque wrench, and pick your thread compound based on your barrel material. Never use a crush washer on a silencer mount; use a direct shoulder or flat shims. Muzzle devices (LPM muzzle brakes and flash hiders):
- Nitrided 4140 barrel, 1/2-28: 15-20 ft-lb with Rocksett.
- Nitrided 4140 barrel, 5/8-24: 20-28 ft-lb with Rocksett.
- Raw 416 stainless barrel, 1/2-28: 15-22 ft-lb with nickel anti-seize.
- Raw 416 stainless barrel, 5/8-24: 22-30 ft-lb with nickel anti-seize.
- Not sure of your barrel material? Use nickel anti-seize and the raw 416 values.
LPM 1/2-28 to 5/8-24 thread adapter (barrel side): same as a 1/2-28 muzzle device, 15-20 ft-lb with Rocksett on nitrided 4140, or 15-22 ft-lb with nickel anti-seize on raw 416.
Silencer-side adapters (Rearden Ti Direct Thread Adapter and Atlas Gen 2, 1.375-24 thread): 35-45 ft-lb on 17-4 stainless silencers (Anthem, Torch, DUTY, COMP) and 28-35 ft-lb on titanium silencers (Mach). Use nickel anti-seize on the adapter's male threads only. Never use Rocksett at this interface.
Front end caps and MBEC: 60 in-lb (5 ft-lb) with nickel anti-seize.
Important:
- Never mix Rocksett and anti-seize on the same threads.
- Let Rocksett cure at least 1 hour before firing, or heat cure at 300°F for 1 hour.
- Re-check tightness after the first 5-10 rounds once everything has cooled.
- Direct-thread silencers go on hand-tight over nickel anti-seize. Always confirm alignment with a bore
alignment rod before firing.
Full details are in the LPM Master Installation Manual
Do your muzzle devices need to be timed with shims?
No, our muzzle devices are omni-directional, so timing is not required. That said, if you wish to time it for aesthetic purposes, be sure to use high quality shims and NOT crush washers, as they can cause baffle strikes.
Silencer Purchase Conditions
*ALL SILENCER SALES ARE FINAL*
The purchase of firearms and accessories controlled by the National Firearms Act (“NFA”) requires approval by the ATF. ATF regulations require that an NFA weapon be transferred to its new owner from a licensed FFL/SOT dealer in the person’s home state. For this reason, within 48 hours of your purchase, you must provide us with the FFL/SOT number for your local dealer. This information can be submitted at info@libertyprecisionmachine.com. When your item is ready for shipment, we submit a request for transfer to your local dealer through a Form 3. This Form 3 is submitted to the NFA branch of the ATF. We cannot ship the NFA item to your dealer until this approved Form 3 is received. The ATF reports that the processing time for Form 3’s is approximately 10 – 30 days.
When your NFA item is received by your local dealer, the dealer must request approval from the ATF to transfer the item to you using a Form 4 or 4473 (where legal). The processing times for Form 4’s varies. The ATF current processing times can be found at https://www.atf.gov/resource-center/current-processing-times. Questions about the Form 4 process should be directed to your local dealer.
